Mark’s upbringing in a military family gave him discipline, persistence and motivation; and when he discovered magic at age 14, he had finally found the right outlet. Paying his way through college by performing at luxury resorts in Scottsdale, Arizona, Mark was ultimately engaged as a regular entertainer at the Phoenix Playboy Club. Realizing that show business might not be such a bad career after all, he moved to New York City and began performing at corporate events while learning the special skills required of a trade show magician. This included becoming a teaching assistant for the Dale Carnegie Sales Course for several years.
Since 1986, Mark Phillips has been one of America’s busiest trade show magicians, delivering crowd-stopping, live marketing presentations major corporations in North America, Europe, Australia and Asia. Mark has represented scores of companies in many diverse industries, from Networking and Telecom to Banking, Consulting, Energy, and Healthcare. His former and current clients include MCI WorldCom, Freddie Mac, Anheuser-Busch, GE, Computer Associates, Emerson, Siemens, Nortel, and KPMG.
An internationally acknowledged sleight-of-hand expert, Mark’s act is breathtakingly visual. This allows him to focus his presentations on delivering the commercial message of his clients. He is well known throughout the exhibit industry for his attention to detail and his highly scripted work. He presents a polished, executive image, and consistently attracts large crowds on the trade show floor. Mark’s fluency in the German language keeps him in demand as a specialist in the European trade fairs.
Mark has co-authored and edited over twenty-five detailed magic books, worked on the leading Cunard and Crystal Cruise Lines, and still finds time to play his French horn in a local symphony!
